About this role

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for keeping the facility and the production equipment for operations running in a safe, consistent, efficient manner. This includes designing and executing a maintenance plan that addresses growth.


The Maintenance Manager will possess holistic trade expertise (e.g., mechanical, electrical, HVAC, equipment maintenance specific to a commercial bakery environment, and mechanical equipment in general) with strong analytical capability and a solution mindset.

  • Salary Range: $60,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Guaranteed Hours: This position is guaranteed 40 hours per week. Hours worked over 40 in a workweek are eligible for overtime pay at time and a half of your regular rate, in accordance with applicable law.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs general building maintenance and makes building maintenance repairs as needed.
  • Performs equipment maintenance and equipment repairs as needed.
  • Performs mechanical equipment maintenance and mechanical equipment repairs as needed.
  • Maintains the organization and upkeep of the Maintenance Room, including proper inventory of parts and other related and necessary supplies.
  • Works proficiently and effectively with managers, supervisors, and leads to problem-solve issues to ensure the proper/safe functioning of all equipment related to production, including sanitation.
  • Maintains GMP standards related to repair/maintenance of equipment, including use of materials/methods congruent with food safety standards.
  • Ensures accurate, proper documentation related to repair/maintenance of equipment.
  • Strategically schedules repair/maintenance needs to ensure least disruption to operations.
  • For any building repairs, adheres to local, state, and federal codes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of food processing equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently, effectively, collaboratively, professionally, positively, and respectfully in stressful situations and a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient user of MaintainX software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Flexible to work varying hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years’ industrial maintenance experience, preferably within food processing; with 4 years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Facility maintenance experience to include buildings and related systems.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation. Essential functions may include prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, repetitive hand and wrist motion, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The position may also involve exposure to hot, cold, and hazardous equipment.
