Position Overview
As a Maintenance Assistant/Transport Driver, you'll support the day-to-day operation of our facility by helping maintain the building, equipment, grounds, and surrounding property.
You'll also serve an important role in helping residents safely get to and from medical appointments, admissions, facility transfers, and other destinations using company vehicles.
This is an active, hands-on position for someone who is comfortable troubleshooting problems, using tools and equipment, responding to changing priorities, and interacting with residents with patience and compassion.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do
Maintenance & Facility Support
- Assist with general electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, mechanical, heating, cooling, and water system maintenance
- Perform basic repairs and upkeep of furniture, equipment, and facility systems
- Assist with maintenance of grounds, parking areas, and driveways
- Perform snow and ice removal as needed, except for services handled by outside contractors
- Operate maintenance equipment and tools, including hand tools, power tools, lawn mowers, snowblowers, and similar equipment
- Receive, move, and distribute freight and supplies as needed
- Safely lift and move furniture, equipment, and other materials
- Monitor facility needs and respond to maintenance issues in a timely manner
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors
Resident Transportation
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport residents as requested
- Assist residents with transportation to medical appointments, admissions, transfers, and other facility-related destinations
- Interact with residents in a professional, patient, and compassionate manner
- Protect resident privacy and maintain confidentiality while performing transportation and other job duties
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents, families, staff, and visitors
Team & Facility Support
- Respond flexibly to changing facility needs and reprioritize work when necessary
- Participate in the facility's on-call program, including occasional evening or weekend needs
- Attend required facility meetings, staff meetings, and training
- Follow all facility safety procedures, applicable regulations, and PPE requirements
- Maintain accurate electronic timekeeping
- Follow facility dress code and identification requirements
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and company policies

- Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Minimum of one year of related maintenance, carpentry, contracting, or similar experience
- Current, valid driver's license
- Experience operating equipment such as hand tools, power tools, lawn mowers, snowblowers, or similar equipment
- Ability to participate in the facility's on-call program, which may include evenings and weekends
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic reading and writing skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and customer service skills
- Strong work ethic and integrity
- Genuine concern for the wellbeing of older adults
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position
- This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
