About this role

Supervisory experience managing and maintaining material handling systems. Must be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of mechanical equipment & components including drives, gearboxes, sprockets, chains, bearings, guide rollers and other related equipment. Also have strong electrical skills including wiring, AC Power, AC Motors, electrical drawing & schematics, and control panels. Knowledge and experience with the following controls components is highly prized: Servo Drives, PLC, PC Controllers, DC Power Supplies, optical devices (i.e., encoders, photo eyes, etc.).

This customer site is located in Fishkill, NY.
Scheduled: Monday - Friday from 7:00 pm to 3:30 am. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be annual salary between $119,000-$124,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

    Tasks and Qualifications:

    What you will do in this role:

    • Must have the ability to track & measures Key Performance Indicators and Fault Data, evaluate & analyze the data, and implement & direct improvement.  Ability to build reports and communication materials to the best report and demonstrate continuous improvement of maintenance and operations of material handling equipment to our customer.  Must have working experience with MS Office products.
    • Identify predictive maintenance repairs that are required to maintain system availability.
    • Assist the Resident Site Maintenance Manager with all the following responsibilities:
    • Ensure identification and accurate management of spare parts inventories applying Sprocket CMMS.
    • Ensure the facility is maintained clean and safe. Make sure all personnel follow safety rules and practice safe work habits. These rules align with safety policies from Dematic and its Customers.
    • Provide daily, on-site communication with 3PL’s warehouse operators and management personnel.
    • Lead all aspects of building maintenance services and coordinate third-party service providers where needed.
    • Ensure a process is in place to handle emergency downs (unscheduled vs. scheduled). This shall include procedures to notify Management, resource call-in plans, problem escalation within Dematic’s organization, etc.
    • Maintain an effective, written technical procedure for handling blocking issues and adhere to it.   Additionally, train the personnel and ensure compliance with the Dematic escalation protocol.
    • Support expansions, projects, and other changes as the need arises.  Any work that is outside of current scope will be reviewed and mutually agreed upon and may require overtime or additional resources to meet the specific tasks.

    What we are looking for:

    • Typically Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
    • Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s) and how it supports related operations.  
    • Demonstrates understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.  
    • Must have at least five years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
    • Typically manages non-exempt administrative or technical employees, and/or lower-level exempt employees.
