About this role

Overview

An early-career Risk Control professional responsible for conducting virtual Risk Control assessments for Commercial Property and Workers’ Compensation accounts. The position uses virtual survey technology, including MirrorMe, to conduct live facility walkthroughs, interview insured representatives, identify exposures and controls, and prepare Risk Control reports to support underwriting.

This position requires good communication skills, basic knowledge of commercial property and workplace safety exposures, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently within established Risk Control guidelines and procedures. The role is designed to provide development across Technical Services, with opportunities to be cross-trained in recommendation response review and quality control.

Responsibilities

The Risk Control Technical Services Specialist primarily conducts virtual Risk Control surveys for Commercial Property and Workers’ Compensation accounts. Using MirrorMe and other available technology, the specialist works directly with insureds to conduct virtual facility walkthroughs, gather information, evaluate exposures and controls, document findings, and prepare Risk Control reports for underwriting.

Surveys may include evaluation of building construction and occupancy, fire protection, housekeeping, electrical and life safety conditions, workplace safety practices, material handling, machine guarding, ergonomics, employee exposures, and other property or Workers’ Compensation risk factors appropriate to the account.

The specialist communicates identified concerns and recommendations, documents survey findings, and works with underwriting and internal Risk Control partners when additional information or follow-up is needed.

As experience is gained, the position may also be cross-trained to assist with recommendation response reviews and quality control activities within Technical Services.
