Logistics Manager

Job Description:

Logistics/ Transport management:
• Manages all transport and distribution operations (receiving, storage, shipping, returns/damaged goods), ensuring service quality and customer requirements are met.
• Resolves complex operational issues in coordination with suppliers, production, customers, customer service, finance, and 3rd parties.
• Optimizes delivery efficiency and pickup/delivery performance across 3PL, external warehouses, and customer/vendor locations.
• Oversees logistics budgeting and cost control
• Manages 3PL/transport providers, service contracts and SLAs to ensure performance and cost efficiency.

Custom clearance:
• Ensures timely customs clearance for imports and compliant export procedures in line with local regulations.
• Reviews operational performance reports (daily/weekly/monthly) and implements corrective actions when variances occur.

Continuous improvement:
• Continuously improves distribution methods, service providers, and logistics cost efficiency; proposes warehousing and logistics enhancement programs to management.
• Leads and develops the logistics team, ensuring capability building, performance evaluation and compliance with HSE requirements.

People management:
o Provides leadership to his / her area (i.e. setting individual objectives, reviewing performance and providing ongoing feedback on a(n) (in)formal basis) so that all reports are aware of what they are required to achieve and how they are performing against their objectives. Develops and directs all warehouse personnel, logistics personnel and drivers to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility, motivates employees through sincere and concrete feedback and take appropriate action when needed, stimulate team cooperation and mobility and ensure that staff are deployable (quantitatively and qualitatively) and willing to and capable of realizing the set objectives.

Compliance: 
o Ensures the warehouses, internal fleet and all processes and procedures are compliant with insurance, legal licensing requirements and with any national, state and local regulations. Ensures quality and food safety requirements are followed for all products during storage, transit, pickup, and delivery.
o Ensures safe practices are followed at all times. Immediately address any and all unsafe work conditions
