We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Logistics Manager to join our team,on a large-scale data centre project in Sines, Portugal.. This role will be site-based and will play a critical leadership role in planning, managing, and coordinating all construction logistics, site movements, lifting operations, and material flow to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project delivery.

The successful candidate will take ownership of site logistics strategy, including traffic management, crane coordination, delivery planning, storage optimisation, and heavy equipment movements, ensuring alignment with the overall construction programme.

Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of all OFCI packages, acting as the primary point of contact between client-appointed vendors and internal teams.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute complex lifting operations, equipment shifts, and crane activities in line with project programmes.
  • Develop and review lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments (RAMS) for major plant installations.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of OFCI equipment — including logistics planning, transport coordination, site access, cranage, rigging, installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Coordinate mobile cranes, tower cranes, and specialist lifting equipment, ensuring safe and efficient utilisation.
  • Liaise with logistics teams, crane suppliers, rigging contractors, and site management to ensure seamless execution of critical lifts and shifts.
  • Monitor lifting operations to ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, lifting standards, and best practice.
  • Manage and mentor the OFCI team and lifting coordinators to ensure high performance and accountability.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure safe integration of equipment installations.
  • Chair stakeholder meetings with clients, vendors, and subcontractors, driving progress and resolving logistical and operational challenges.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and risks, particularly relating to lifting strategy, crane availability, and site logistics constraints.
  • Ensure all equipment and lifting activities meet technical, safety, and quality requirements prior to installation.
  • Proactively manage commercial and operational risks associated with lifting operations and specialist equipment movements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health & safety procedures, including lifting operations regulations and site-specific safety protocols.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in M&E contracting or mission-critical/data centre environments.
  • Proven experience managing heavy lifts, complex equipment shifts, and crane operations on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of lifting regulations, planning, rigging, and safe execution of major lifts.
  • Experience coordinating with crane suppliers, heavy haulage, and specialist logistics providers.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects from design through to commissioning within tight timelines.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience managing vendor performance and risk.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and engineering software.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-performance environment with a strong delivery focus.
