Job Description

Cheticamp Medical Clinic is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage until December 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

• delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
• work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access
• utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Remuneration

• guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day)
• additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded.
• accommodations up to $300 per night 
• travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500)
• travel time up to 10 hours per week
• licensing fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSNS)

Qualifications

• all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• all family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

The clinic is equipped with Med Access EMR, enabling efficient and streamlined patient care. Physicians are supported by experienced clerical staff, a dedicated family practice nurse, and access to social work services, fostering a team-based approach to care. The practice serves a diverse patient population with a wide range of healthcare needs, providing an opportunity for meaningful, full-scope family medicine in a close-knit community setting.
