Job Description Summary

GE Healthcare Finland Oy is looking for a Localization Specialist to join our Global Design Engineering team in Helsinki.

In this role, you will coordinate localization activities for medical device software, user documentation, and other product-related content supporting global product development programs. You will work closely with engineering teams, technical publications teams, product stakeholders, and external language service providers to help ensure timely delivery of localized content for worldwide markets.

The role requires fluency in English and Finnish, as well as proficiency in at least one additional language: a European language or Simplified/Traditional Chinese. This language expertise will be applied to translation and localization activities, terminology management, linguistic quality assessment, and collaboration with global stakeholders.

The role combines localization project coordination, language asset management, quality oversight, and continuous improvement. You will help evaluate and implement language technologies, AI-powered tools, and automation solutions that enhance quality, efficiency, and scalability across localization workflows.

You will play a key role in maintaining high-quality multilingual content, supporting global product releases, and driving improvements in localization processes and technologies.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate localization of software, documentation, and other product-related content across assigned languages.

  • Manage localization deliverables, schedules, and collaboration with internal stakeholders and external language service providers.

  • Maintain terminology databases, translation memories, style guides, and support localization quality activities.

  • Leverage AI, automation, and language technology solutions to improve localization quality and efficiency. 

  • Identify opportunities to optimize, standardize, and scale localization workflows. 

  • Analyze localization metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Stay current with emerging language technologies and localization best practices.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Fluency in English, Finnish and proficiency at least in one European language or Simplified/Traditional Chinese.

  • Experience in localization, language technology, translation project coordination, technical documentation, content management, or a related field.

  • Strong project coordination, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a global environment.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Interest in AI, automation, and technology-enabled ways of working.

Desired Characteristics

  • Previous experience with medical or technical translations.

  • Experience using computer-assisted translation tools, such as Trados Studio, and content management or authoring systems (e.g., Astoria, Oxygen).

  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across global and cross-functional teams.
