Job Summary
The Learning Consultant is a consultative role responsible for understanding the assigned business line’s strategy, priorities, performance needs, and learning requirements. This role develops learning solutions that are relevant, practical, and aligned with the assigned business line’s goals, context, and measures of success.
The Learning Consultant builds sustained partnerships with leaders, subject matter experts, and employees within the assigned business line to develop a shared understanding of its priorities, performance needs, and operating context. The role translates those insights into responsive learning strategies and solutions that strengthen capability, readiness, and performance. The Learning Consultant connects with GL&D and other partners as needed, using enterprise standards and shared resources as guardrails while ensuring solutions remain relevant to the business line’s needs.
Key Responsibilities
Consultation & partnership
- Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with business leaders and develop a deep understanding of its strategy, operating context, talent, and performance priorities to understand performance priorities and capability gaps
- Lead structured discovery and diagnostic conversations to identify root causes of performance gaps, including learning and non‑learning factors.
- Guide stakeholders toward enterprise‑aligned solutions that address the business line’s needs
- Act as a connector across assigned business line, GL&D, and HR to drive shared ownership and clarity
Program design, delivery & governance
- Translate business line strategy into structured learning journeys, programs, and experiences
- Partner with instructional designers, facilitators, and subject matter experts to ensure solutions align to the strategy and to align resources and execution
- Establish governance routines, prioritization mechanisms, and decision forums to maintain focus and momentum
- Ensure programs are scalable, sustainable, and integrated into flow of work
Measurement, evaluation & impact
- Define success metrics tied to capability, readiness, employee performance, and outcomes defined with the assigned business line
- Apply formal measurement and evaluation approaches aligned to ISO standards (e.g., effectiveness, efficiency, and impact)
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to assess program performance and inform continuous improvement
- Communicate impact through clear, executive‑ready insights and storytelling
Basic Qualifications
- Six or more years of learning and development, HR, business, or managerial experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Demonstrated experience building strong business partnerships and leading learning solutions that address complex, business-specific needs
- Strong consulting skills with the ability to influence peers and leaders
- Deep understanding of business consulting, learning strategy, capability development, or performance improvement
- Expertise in adult learning principles and modern, blended learning approaches
- Experience using formal measurement frameworks and data to drive decisions
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect learning strategy to business line priorities, performance goals, employee needs, and measurable outcomes.
Location Expectations
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank hub location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
