About this role

Join our global force of 400+ innovators, blending the latest in tech with the greatest in soundtracking, from our Stockholm HQ to offices in London, New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, Paris, Oslo, and Seoul. We’re an industry leader with a startup mentality. We take what we do seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Creating and collaborating to transform the sound of streaming, content, and culture. Come join us, and let the world feel your work.

As a Lead Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in setting the creative bar for experience quality across a product area that spans several teams, and for the outcomes that experience creates for our customers. Your role will be to set direction, principles, patterns and quality thresholds, and encode that bar so that both people and models can meet it. Your own work is the proof, and it shows the highest creative judgment and taste.

You will work in the build loop with engineering, prototyping in code and taking the UI through to live product. The role moves between two modes: embedded on high-impact initiatives, and setting direction and standards across teams. You will partner with design and product leadership on product direction and evolve the design process for AI-native work.

Your key responsibilities include

  • Lead high-impact, ambiguous initiatives from idea to live product, working in the build loop with engineering.

  • Stay close to users, basing decisions on research, live product and data, and following up on what changed after launch.

  • Prototype in code and take the user interface through to live product.

  • Raise the bar with designers, product managers and engineers through pairing, critique and review of live product.

  • Evolve the design system as infrastructure for both people and AI agents, covering behaviour as well as components.

  • Encode how Epidemic Sound designs AI-driven products, including trust, control and evaluation, so others can apply it.

Requirements

  • Exceptional design craft, with a high bar for usability, taste and coherence across the product.

  • Authority with patterns, with the ability to define how they are applied, adapted or replaced across the organisation.

  • Proven ability to synthesise research, analytics, market and business strategy into design direction with organisational impact.

  • Fluency in the build loop, with the ability to set the standard for how design and engineering collaborate in-product, without file handoff.

  • A track record of orchestrating AI rather than prompting it, knowing when its output is good enough and when not to generate at all.

  • It would also be music to our ears if you have experience holding the cross-team view across multiple design teams, and a track record of connecting design decisions to user outcomes, business metrics, growth targets, and long-term product strategy.

Equal opportunity employer
