About this role

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Engineer with 10+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, compliance assurance, regulatory reporting, and remediation activities. The role will be responsible for assessing regulatory requirements, evaluating compliance controls, identifying gaps and risks, and driving remediation initiatives to ensure continued adherence to applicable regulatory and organizational requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience working with compliance frameworks, audits, regulatory assessments, control testing, evidence management, and cross-functional stakeholders. The individual will act as a subject-matter expert for compliance matters and support the organization in maintaining a strong, audit-ready compliance posture.

Key Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead and support regulatory compliance assessments, reviews, and assurance activities.
  • Interpret applicable regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable compliance and control requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate regulatory reporting, ensuring completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timely submission of required information.
  • Perform compliance gap assessments and identify control weaknesses, regulatory risks, and areas requiring remediation.
  • Develop and track compliance remediation plans arising from audits, assessments, regulatory findings, or control deficiencies.
  • Partner with business, technology, risk, legal, audit, and governance teams to implement appropriate compliance controls.
  • Conduct periodic testing and validation of controls to assess design and operational effectiveness.
  • Maintain compliance documentation, control evidence, assessment results, remediation records, and supporting artifacts.
  • Coordinate responses to internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and assurance reviews.
  • Track compliance findings, risks, exceptions, and corrective actions through closure.
  • Perform root-cause analysis for recurring compliance issues and recommend sustainable corrective measures.
  • Monitor changes in relevant regulations and assess their potential impact on existing processes, systems, and controls.
  • Support the development and enhancement of compliance policies, standards, procedures, and control frameworks.
  • Prepare compliance dashboards, reports, risk summaries, and status updates for senior management and relevant governance forums.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise and guidance to stakeholders regarding regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to improving compliance processes, governance practices, and operational effectiveness.

Skill Requirements

Mandatory Skills

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in compliance, regulatory risk, assurance, audit, governance, or related areas.
  • Strong expertise in Regulatory Reporting & Compliance.
  • Extensive experience in Compliance & Assurance Services.
  • Strong knowledge of Compliance Remediation and Regulatory Requirements.
  • Experience conducting compliance assessments, gap analysis, control reviews, and remediation validation.
  • Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks, governance processes, and compliance lifecycle management.
  • Experience supporting internal/external audits and regulatory assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of control design, control testing, evidence collection, and audit readiness.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and convert requirements into practical business and technology controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including root-cause analysis.
  • Experience managing compliance issues, findings, action plans, and remediation through closure.
  • Excellent documentation, reporting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Technology, Risk, Legal, Audit, Security, Operations, and Business teams.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple compliance initiatives and priorities in a complex enterprise environment.
