Lawyer / Associate - Professional Indemnity

Lawyer, Insurance (Professional Indemnity) 2 to 4 years PQE | Brisbane CBD

My client is a specialist insurance law firm in Brisbane's CBD. The team is made up of lawyers with top tier insurance backgrounds, acting for insurers on coverage, defence and risk matters.

They're looking for a lawyer with two to four years' PQE to join the Brisbane team.

The role

You'll run your own files, advise clients and work closely with senior lawyers across a mix of insurance matters. Day to day, that means research, drafting, and appearing for clients in negotiations, mediations and court.

What you'll be doing

• Managing a caseload from start to finish, keeping matters on track and on time
  
• Keeping clients informed and explaining where their matter stands
  
• Researching legislation and case law to shape strategy
  
• Drafting and reviewing advices, pleadings and other documents
  
• Keeping on top of court deadlines and key dates
  
• Building ongoing client relationships
  
• Working with lawyers at all levels and helping develop junior staff
  

About you

• Two to four years' post-admission experience in insurance law or a similar practice
  
• Professional indemnity, public liability or defendant personal injury experience (highly regarded)
  
• LLB, PLT completed, and admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court
  
• Strong communication and client skills
  
• Organised, detail-focused and comfortable working independently under pressure
