About this role
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laborer to join our team. This position is responsible for cutting rail to specified lengths using a torch, drilling rail according to order requirements, and preparing materials for shipment by palletizing and organizing orders. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work in a physically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cut rail to precise measurements using oxy-acetylene or similar torch equipment
- Drill rail sections accurately based on customer or job specifications
- Palletize and organize materials for outgoing orders
- Ensure all products meet quality standards before shipment
- Operate yard tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a labor, manufacturing, or metalworking environment preferred
- Experience with torch cutting and drilling equipment is a plus
- Ability to read a tape measure and follow detailed instructions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Dependable with a strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials (50+ lbs)
- Standing, bending, and working in an industrial environment for extended periods
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions
