Job Description

1. Compliance and Quality Assurance

•Ensure compliance with company policies, SAC-SINGLAS requirements, quality standards, and EHS regulations.

•Support internal and external audits, CAPA implementation, and continuous quality improvement.

•Review and maintain SOPs, test methods, and laboratory documentation.

2. Laboratory Operations Management

•Manage daily laboratory operations to ensure timely sample processing, accurate testing, and efficient workflow.

•Supervise testing activities, equipment scheduling, housekeeping, and resource utilization.

•Review technical data and test reports prior to approval by the authorized signatory.

•Coordinate proficiency testing (PT), method verification, and quality control activities.

3. Equipment and Technical Oversight

•Ensure laboratory instruments are properly maintained, calibrated, and fit for use.

•Coordinate equipment servicing, calibration, and troubleshooting.

•Support implementation of new equipment and test methods to enhance laboratory capability.

4. Strategic Planning and Execution

•Lead strategic goal planning and execution to drive operational excellence and long-term success.

•Spearhead improvement plans, from ideation to execution, aimed at optimizing laboratory workflows and enhancing performance.

•Research and implement new work areas and corresponding test methods, ensuring alignment with business and customer needs.

5. People Leadership and Development

•Supervise all activities within assigned sections, ensuring effective resource planning, high performance, and protocol adherence.

•Train, evaluate, and manage staff performance to support development and continuous improvement.

•Control manpower planning, recruitment, and staff development to meet current and future operational demands.

•Lead by example to inspire a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.

6. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

•Liaise between laboratory teams and management to align goals, escalate issues, and facilitate smooth communication.

•Engage with clients to discuss test results and provide technical support, ensuring customer satisfaction and trust.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Science or equivalent with at least 8 years related laboratory experience.
  • Experienced with method-related tasks.
  • Possesses SAC Singlas signatory and good knowledge of SAC-SINGLAS/ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, laboratory quality systems, and equipment management.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Experienced in audit & CAPA management skills
  • Interacts with operational personnel, scientific personnel, and department management.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols.
