About this role

We are seeking an experienced Key Account Manager – Capital Projects Australia to drive capital sales growth across our Pumps, Cyclones and Valves (PCV) portfolio.

Reporting to the Capital Sales Manager – APAC – PCV, you will be responsible for developing and converting capital project opportunities across Australia, with a particular focus on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies based in Perth and Brisbane. You will engage with EPCs and mining customers throughout the study-to-project lifecycle, positioning FLS solutions and managing opportunities from early engagement through tender, negotiation, award and sales handover.

This is a senior individual contributor role requiring a strong combination of mineral processing knowledge, capital project experience, technical sales capability and commercial acumen.

What you will do

  • Manage capital sales opportunities across Australia, including cross-regional projects generated through Australian-based EPCs.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key EPCs, engineering houses and mining customers to build a sustainable pipeline and generate repeat business.

  • Engage with customers throughout the study, engineering and project lifecycle to identify opportunities and influence equipment selection.

  • Plan and execute the complete capital project sales workflow, including customer engagement, opportunity development, tender submissions, technical and commercial negotiations, order award and handover.

  • Promote FLS's Pumps, Cyclones and Valves (PCV) solutions for mineral processing and concentrator plant applications.

  • Work closely with internal product, engineering, proposals, commercial and regional sales teams to develop competitive customer solutions.

  • Deliver agreed order intake, revenue and market growth targets.

  • Capture, manage and maintain accurate customer and opportunity information within CRM systems.

  • Deliver high-impact technical and commercial presentations to EPCs, mining companies and other key stakeholders.

  • Adapt to changing business priorities, including supporting brownfield capital projects and other strategic sales opportunities as required.

  • Promote a strong culture of safety, inclusion, collaboration and accountability.

  • Travel regularly to customer and EPC locations across Australia, with approximately 50% travel expected.

What you bring

  • Engineering, metallurgy, mineral processing, chemical engineering or a related technical qualification, or equivalent capital project delivery experience.

  • Strong knowledge of mineral processing and concentrator plant applications.

  • Ideally 4–5+ years' experience in technical sales, sales engineering, capital projects or business development, preferably within the mining and mineral processing industry.

  • Experience selling or working with mineral processing equipment, ideally including pumps, cyclones, valves or related process equipment.

  • Demonstrated experience working with EPCs, engineering companies and/or mining operators on capital projects.

  • Understanding of the mining project lifecycle, from early studies and engineering through tendering, project execution and equipment supply.

  • Strong commercial capability, including tender preparation, negotiations and management of complex sales opportunities.

  • Excellent presentation, communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage technical specialists, project teams and senior decision-makers.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Proven problem-solving capability, sound judgement and the ability to operate independently.

  • Self-motivated, collaborative and comfortable taking ownership of customer and commercial outcomes.

What sets you apart

You will be particularly well suited to this opportunity if you combine technical mineral processing knowledge with capital equipment sales experience and understand how Australian EPCs and mining companies make equipment decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Experience within pumps, slurry handling, hydrocyclones, valves, comminution or broader mineral processing equipment would be highly regarded.
