Overview

IE University's Faculty Payments, Administration & Accounting is looking for a Junior Associate to join its team!  The Junior Associate will ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely processing of faculty payments, delivering high-quality service and ensuring proper accounting and tax compliance across all academic payment operations.

    Responsibilities

    Your role as a Junior Associate will involve: • Manage the daily faculty payment process.• Record accounting transactions (invoices, payments, transfers, etc.).• Handle tax-related procedures: tax residency, withholdings, compliance.• Verify documentation required for payment processing.• Register and update professor personal and banking data.• Reconcile academic planning and teaching schedules.• Provide support to professors via email, phone, and in person.• Coordinate with Academic Planning, IT and Vice Dean of Faculty.• Process national and international remittances and wire transfers.• Identify and resolve discrepancies in billing and payments.• Ensure all processes comply with legal and internal regulations.• Support budget planning and reconciliation.

    Qualifications

    To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
    • Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Accounting.
    • At least 1 year of experience in similar roles, ideally in academic or international environments.
    • Knowledge of accounting and taxation applicable to professional services.
    • Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written). (C1 level valued).
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 valued).
    • Experience and willingness to learn and apply AI-driven tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, etc) in administrative and accounting processes.
    • Strong multitasking and organizational skills; ability to perform under pressure.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • International mindset and experience in multicultural environments.
