Position Summary:

As an IT Systems Administrator at Miovision, you are the backbone of our internal technology operations, keeping our team moving forward without delays. You will co-own the IT Service Desk, delivering high-touch, on-site support at our Kitchener headquarters and giving a green light to remote team members worldwide. In this role, you will clear the digital gridlock by balancing hands-on hardware troubleshooting with the administration of our cloud-first identity and productivity suites. If you want to keep the internal lanes clear so our team can focus on reducing global traffic congestion, this is your cue to drive your career forward.

Please Note: This is an on-site opportunity at our HQ in Kitchener, Ontario.

Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical assistance, managing and delegating the ticketing system (JIRA Service Management) to ensure uptime and business efficiency.

  • Build and support Miovision’s identity strategy through daily administration of Okta,

Active Directory (AD) Azure AD, Jamf and InTune.

  • Lead the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes, including workstation

deployment, account activation, and hardware recovery.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across Windows Desktop/Server, macOS, and Linux (Ubuntu) environments.

  • Provision and maintain on-premise servers and manage enterprise-distributed

applications, including antivirus and endpoint management tools like Jamf and InTune.

  • Manage IT procurement, inventory tracking, and vendor relationships for workstations,

    server components, and peripherals.

  • Support A/V requirements for major corporate events and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for internal knowledge sharing.

  • Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation to support critical business operations as

    needed.

Ideal Profile:

Technical Expertise

  • Service Desk Excellence: Prior experience in an IT Service Desk capacity, providing high-touch, on-site, and remote support to a global employee base. Proven experience with laptop deployment and device management is required; experience within a tech company is a strong asset.

  • Systems Administration: A proven track record of managing and optimizing desktop infrastructure, with the ability to confidently configure and debug across Windows, macOS, and Linux ecosystems.

  • Identity and Cloud Proficiency: Experience building or maintaining identity access workflows and directory services using Okta (or equivalent IAM tools), Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and directory services (Active Directory/Azure AD).

  • Infrastructure and Security Fundamentals: Solid understanding of security administration and enterprise network administration, alongside working knowledge of automated identity workflows and zero-trust security models.

  • Operational Discipline: Familiarity utilizing tools like Jira and Confluence to document processes, track inventory, and manage projects.

Mindset and Demeanor

  • A Natural Troubleshooter: We care less about you being an overnight expert in our specific systems, and much more about your core aptitude for the service desk. You are driven by a curiosity to solve problems and a motivation to help others overcome technology roadblocks.

  • Calm Under Pressure: You inherently understand urgency and care deeply about resolving issues quickly, yet you possess the resilience to handle high-stress situations with a calm, grounded demeanor.

  • Customer-First Communication: Exceptional communication skills coupled with a genuine desire to provide elite customer service to employees in need.

  • Prioritization and Independence: Excellent time management skills with a demonstrated ability to independently juggle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • "Play for the Team" Attitude: A collaborative, team-first approach to technical challenges. You win as a team, learn as a team, and support one another.

  • Customer Service Mindset: You possess excellent communication skills and are known for provided great customer service to employees in need.

Location: This is an on-site opportunity at our HQ in Kitchener, Ontario.
