Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.
Each day, you will work in our fast moving Cath/IR Lab certainly offers a variety of procedural exposure to procedure scrubs/radiology technologists who choose this clinical area by professional expansion. Monitor and examine the patient prior, during and after the procedure, as well as assist the physician and assist the medical team in whatever they may need during the procedure, such as supply knowledge and management with the department.
To be successful in this role, you must deeply understand Cath/IR Invasive Technologist diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.
- Ensures the patient is positioned properly for the procedure.
- Ensures EKG electrodes are properly placed and cardiac electrodes correctly applied. ● Ensures skin is prepped and sterilized appropriately prior to procedural draping. ● Performs monitoring function throughout procedures.
- Documents clinical information in patient records.
- Performs surgical scrubbing duties and assists physicians during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile field
- Uses fine motor skills to assist physician with the placement/deployment/use of invasive catheters, wires, balloons, stents, Intra-aortic balloon counter-pulsation equipment (IABP), implantable cardiac devices, and electrophysiology catheters
Job Requirements
Graduation from an accredited school: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
- Previous general radiologic technologist experience for one year.
- Previous Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Interventional Radiology Lab experience License/Certification:
Current licensure as a ARRT (NE)/ RCIS
Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 - months
