About this role

Position Overview

The successful candidate would be supporting the APAC leadership team in Singapore reporting to the APAC Chief of Staff. The role will provide direct support to a diverse set of businesses in the region by driving strategic initiatives, working with the existing APAC investment and capital formation teams to drive growth, and help manage day-to-day operations. The candidate will be heavily involved in developing and managing a broad range of business priorities alongside key stakeholders and will have daily exposure to senior management, both in Asia Pacific and globally. A successful candidate should have a strong desire to grow and manage a leading asset management platform by leveraging their experience to pursue new ideas and execute on the firm’s strategic ambitions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Business Strategy & Execution: Support Head of Asia Pacific and Asia Business Leaders in all aspects of organic growth, including awareness of market trends and competitor activities, conceiving of and developing new business ideas, driving buy-in and budget support discussions with senior management as well as executing the business strategy to help drive growth; manage the day-to-day operations and ensure routines and tracking mechanisms are in place to follow-up on key decisions and action items emerging from discussions.
  • Cross Platform & Culture Initiatives: Partner with senior management and the human capital team to define and drive forward key initiatives depending on business coverage; recent examples include defining an Asian build strategy, building strong teams and solidifying the Apollo culture in region.
  • Special Projects: Execute on ad-hoc requests from senior management; examples include preparing firm communications, firmwide strategy reviews, external presentations and conferences, organizational restructurings alongside the various business and enterprise solutions teams.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant experience at an investment bank, consulting firm, asset manager, or in a corporate strategy role, ideally with a focus on financial institutions or asset management
  • Strong presentation and communication abilities, detail orientation, and an exceptional technical skillset
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rigorous work environment; demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines
  • Strong initiative and ownership of responsibilities – must demonstrate a proactive, positive attitude toward given tasks
  • Self-starter with a willingness to execute projects in a small, nimble team
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills necessary to handle sensitive information and confidential situations
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Team-oriented and collaborative attitude is a must
