About this role

Overall Description:

ZeroFox is seeking an Associate Intelligence Analyst (Writing/Reporting) to join our intelligence department’s news desk, a team called the Finished Intelligence Desk. We seek writers who can work with technical analysts and deliver concise, narrative-driven intelligence under pressure. In this pivotal role, you’ll partner with technical and operational teams to translate complex findings into audience-focused intelligence products—ranging from daily briefs to ransomware alerts, election-threat landscape reports, and geopolitical or physical security analysis. Using our proprietary hybrid intelligence platforms, you’ll leverage clearnet, deep and dark web sources to produce polished, actionable reports for internal and external stakeholders. Discretion, collaboration, and narrative creativity are essential.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with technical teams to translate research findings into audience-centric intelligence briefs and reports.
  • Producing daily intelligence products—including ransomware analysis, election-threat landscape insights, news summaries, and geopolitical/physical security reports.
  • Synthesizing content from clearnet, deep web, and dark web sources (e.g. underground forums, leaked data, attacker indicators) to support finished intelligence outputs.
  • Assisting internal partners with strategic and tactical report creation, maintaining alignment with branding and editorial standards.
  • Reviewing all deliverables to ensure clarity, brand consistency, analytical rigor, and originality.
  • Supporting ad hoc, client-specific content requests across cyber, physical, geopolitical, or hybrid domains.
  • Protecting operational security by safeguarding sources and methodologies in all message production.
  • Maintaining consistent content flow and output quality across your assigned shift—acting as our newsroom’s steady anchor.
  • Standing out in an AI-dependant world: While AI is an impressive crutch, it must be just that, a crutch, and not a dependency. As an intelligent analyst, AI should be your last resort for research and just a clean-up agent for writing. Intelligence analysis should never be dictated by AI.

Qualifying Requirements:

  • Exceptional fluency in written and spoken English, with strong grammar, structure, and clarity.
  • 2+ years’ experience as a technical writer, editor, or content creator within cybersecurity, intelligence, or enterprise IT.
  • Excellent research, proofreading, and editing skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work with technical experts (e.g., threat analysts) to distill findings for diverse audiences.
  • Basic with geopolitics, technology, cybersecurity, threat intelligence, digital risk, and operational security concepts.
  • Comfortable producing high-quality written content under tight deadlines and working collaboratively.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience delivering finished intelligence on election threats, ransomware incidents, geopolitical risks, or physical security matters.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and editorial or content management tools.
  • Familiarity with OSINT methods covering clearnet, deep, and dark web channels for threat discovery.
  • Basic knowledge of geopolitics, current events, threat actor behaviors, and underground marketplaces.
  • Additional language skills (e.g. Russian, Arabic, Chinese, German) are a strong plus.
  • Initiative-taking mindset with experience coordinating editorial decisions in a newsroom-like environment.
  • Competitive compensation
  • Community-driven culture with employee events
  • Generous time off
  • Best-in-class benefits
  • Fun, modern workspace
  • Respectful and nourishing work environment, where every opinion is heard and everyone is encouraged to be an active part of the organizational culture
