Instrumentation Technician

Overview

Calspan’s Automotive Crash Facility, located in Buffalo, NY, is recognized worldwide for its leadership in vehicle safety testing. With a mission to advance the science of crash testing.

Responsibilities

• Performing set-up and installation of equipment, instrumentation, cable routing, soldering, and checkout before, during, and after the test.
• Support the maintenance, installation, and repair of test equipment to maximize operational availability.
• Document test procedures and installations. Provide guidance with data calculation when applicable.
• Understand OEM test request for upcoming test instrumentation required for test article. Assemble instrumentation required and make placards for test article

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• AAS or Bachelors in related discipline and 1-3 years in related discipline or;
• A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
• Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems
• Electrical and electronic principles
• Perform operations and execute moderately complex test procedures for engineering, scientific, or real-time data acquisition
• Read and understand engineering plans and specifications
• Read drawings and troubleshoot
• Microsoft Office
