Location: Springfield, TN (onsite)

Schedule: 2nd shift


As our next Injection Molding Process Technician, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting the setup, operation, and maintenance of injection molding machines used in automotive manufacturing. Your interest in mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, safety, and quality control will be essential as you complete technical training and develop the skills required for a successful career as an Injection Molding Technician.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Assist with the setup and operation of injection molding machines and related equipment
  • Learn to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve basic machine and process issues under supervision
  • Perform routine inspections and quality checks to ensure molded parts meet specifications
  • Document production data accurately and report process deviations to the supervisor
  • Follow established work instructions, operating procedures, and safety requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Support routine equipment care and basic maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with technicians, supervisors, and production team members
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity
  • Complete required classroom and hands-on technical training through the apprenticeship program

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Enrollment or willingness to enroll in the Injection Molding Technician program at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing processes
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures
  • Basic mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, product quality, and continuous learning
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat and noise

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Previous manufacturing, mechanical, or technical experience
  • Coursework or hands-on experience involving industrial equipment or injection molding
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments and basic quality inspection practices
  • Experience participating in technical, vocational, or skilled-trades training
  • Interest in pursuing a long-term career in automotive manufacturing

Training and Career Development:

  • Complete classroom and hands-on training focused on injection molding fundamentals, machine setup, safety, and quality control
  • Receive on-the-job instruction and mentoring from experienced technicians and supervisors
  • Develop practical troubleshooting, inspection, and equipment operation skills
  • Build the technical competencies required to advance into an Injection Molding Technician position
  • Successful completion of the apprenticeship may lead to full-time employment and additional advancement opportunities in automotive manufacturing
