Project Director – Heavy Civil & Marine Construction Bridges | Tunnels | Marine Infrastructure | Dams | Complex Civil Projects About the Opportunity Our client is a well-established and highly respected heavy civil contractor known for delivering some of Canada’s most complex infrastructure projects. With a strong portfolio that includes major bridges, tunnels, marine infrastructure, dams, wharf, jetties, deep foundations, and large-scale transportation projects, they are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead high-profile projects across Ontario and other major Canadian markets. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a construction professional with extensive experience managing large multidisciplinary civil projects from pre-construction through execution and closeout. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving project strategy, operational execution, client relationships, and overall project performance. Compensation & Benefits Base salary ranging from $190,000 – $260,000 depending on experience Executive bonus structure Vehicle allowance or company vehicle Comprehensive health and dental benefits RRSP matching program Opportunity to lead landmark infrastructure projects Long-term career growth with a respected heavy civil contractor Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for large-scale heavy civil and marine infrastructure projects including bridges, tunnels, dams, jetties, wharf, and complex structural works Lead project teams through all phases of construction including pre-construction planning, procurement, scheduling, execution, commissioning, and project closeout Manage project financial performance including budgets, forecasting, cost controls, change management, and risk mitigation strategies Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, consultants, municipalities, agencies, subcontractors, and joint venture partners Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contractual, environmental, and regulatory requirements What We Are Looking For 15+ years of progressive heavy civil construction experience with significant leadership experience on complex infrastructure projects Proven background managing major bridge, tunnel, marine, dam, port, wharf, jetty, or other large structural civil construction projects valued in excess of $100M Strong understanding of heavy civil construction methodologies including structural concrete, marine works, deep foundations, temporary works, excavation, shoring, and complex staging Demonstrated ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams while managing multiple stakeholders in high-profile project environments Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
