We're looking for a curious and motivated software engineer who wants to build a career in cybersecurity.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Information Security team and develop hands-on experience across a broad range of security disciplines. You'll work alongside experienced security professionals while applying your software engineering skills to help protect applications, systems, data, and business processes.
Unlike many entry-level cybersecurity roles that focus on a single area, this position offers exposure to multiple disciplines including application security, vulnerability management, penetration testing, security reviews, risk assessments, cloud security, compliance, and automation.

What You'll Be Doing
- Review applications, APIs, and software solutions for security risks and recommend improvements.
- Support security testing activities, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Assist with supplier, software, and project security reviews.
- Help manage and track security vulnerabilities through remediation.
- Contribute to risk assessments and security compliance activities.
- Support customer security questionnaires, audits, and assurance requests.
- Assist with day-to-day security operations and security tooling administration.
- Develop scripts and automations to improve security processes and reduce manual effort.
- Work closely with Engineering, IT, Compliance, Legal, Procurement, and business stakeholders

What We're Looking For
Essential
- 1-2 years of experience in Software Engineering, Development, or a similar technical role.
- Experience with at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, or Go.
- Understanding of software development practices, version control, and APIs.
- Knowledge of web application fundamentals, including authentication and access controls.
- Ability to read and understand code.
- A genuine interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related discipline.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 or common application security concepts.
- Exposure to vulnerability scanning or security testing tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
- Awareness of ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, or related standards.
- Security certifications such as Security+, CEH, eJPT, or similar.
