Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Imaging Tech - Student, you will contribute to our medical imaging department by performing varied duties tailored to support departmental needs and enhance your professional experience, above and beyond school requirements. Every day you will engage in flexible tasks, learn from experienced professionals in a supportive environment, and utilize your developing skills to support the efficient operation of our imaging services, aligning your purpose with our organizational mission. To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong willingness to learn, adaptability to varying responsibilities, a proactive approach to supporting departmental functions, and a dedication to growing your skills within a dynamic healthcare setting.

  • Performs diagnostic radiology procedures, providing safety for self, patients, and all other individuals to include radiation safety.
  • Produces and develops quality exams in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Prepares patient for exams; gives instructions to patients regarding procedures; assists the patient during the exam and positions the patient.
  • Explains the procedure to patients and responds to their physical and emotional needs.
  • Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports/documents unusual occurrences and records patient's conditions.
  • Communicates, in writing and verbally, with all physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff in facilitating the continuum care.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be enrolled in an approved ARRT, ARDMS or CNMTB training program, within nine (9) months of graduation
  • BLS from the American Heart Association

Preferred

  • Graduate of an accredited sonography program
