Housekeeper Primary Responsibilities
The Housekeeper is responsible for providing housekeeping services throughout the facility to help maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, employees, and visitors.
Responsibilities may include:
Cleaning resident rooms, common areas, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas
Dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces
Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms
Emptying trash and properly disposing of waste
Following infection-control and safety procedures
Restocking housekeeping supplies as needed
Reporting maintenance or safety concerns
Providing friendly and respectful service to residents
Working as part of the team to keep our facility looking its best

Responsibilities
Housekeeper Essential Functions
- Housekeepers will follow established housekeeping guidelines and quality assurance standards
- Maintain cleaning schedules for assigned area
- Coordinating routine/terminal isolation procedures with Nursing Services
- Maintain knowledge of safety regulations, policies and procedures and following the established safety procedures and precautions
- Housekeepers will report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to supervisor immediately
- Honoring the residents’ personal and property rights
- Filing complaints/grievances with supervisor in a timely fashion
Qualifications
Housekeeper Qualifications
- Housekeeper must have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective housekeeping practices within the State of Indiana
- Have the ability to be a team player to partner with other departments
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but not required
