Highway Design Engineer

The position will be responsible for designing route using Civil 3D software. The position will be responsible for detailed design of alignment that includes separate interchanges consisting plan, profile and core area grading. The position will be responsible for collecting the data on every possible aspect of the job from employees. The position will be responsible to oversee the costing, estimating, planning and implementation of a project. The position will be responsible for construction projects is focused on the concept and feasibility of the design.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITY

Area of Responsibility

Highway Designs

· Designing local road schemes and maintaining the road network, including structures such as bridges

· Perform technical work of roadway plans.

· Perform technical work of roadway design calculations.

· Perform technical work of roadway quantity take offs.

· Participate in value engineering workshops.

· Help the senior Engineer to attend meeting to explain technical comments and resolve their disposition.

· Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

· Plan for highway maintenance and improvement projects

· Responsible for responding to all customer enquiries promptly, positively

· Ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget

· Responsible to submission of the project deliveries to the scheduled timeframe.

· Excellent communication skills, well-versed in preparation of reports and presentation.

· Accountable to follow the quality standard in preparation of designs, report, calculation and drawings

· The position will be responsible for understanding the design requirements of the customer

· The position will be responsible for preparing the design as per the data

· The position will be responsible for preparing designs, drawings & reports

· The position will be responsible for making all the necessary calculations in terms of load & stress

· The position will be responsible for coordinating with all the other COE & Project teams for collecting the data as per the required standards

· The position will be responsible for ensuring all the designs that are being shared with the customer are as per the quality standards of the customer and the standards developed by the organization

· The position will be responsible for ensuring to cross verify the quality and the accuracy of the data that is being collected

· Ensure that participation is made in making / establishing the Standard Operating Processes (SOP) either on organization / department / project level

· Ensure that the SOP’s that have been agreed are deployed and adhered to 100% 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education level and/or relevant experience(s)

· M tech in Transportation

· BE in Civil Engineering

· Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience

· Civil 3D

· Open Road

· MX Road

· Auto CAD

Knowledge and skills (general and technical) 

· Analytical Skill

· Good command on verbal & written communication skills

· Command on Excel, Power point, Word, Microsoft Schedules

· Decision Making
