A Brief Overview
The Health Resource Center (HRC) Educator supports middle and high school students in making informed decisions about sexual and reproductive health, relationships, and overall well-being. The HRC Educator reports to the HRC Manager and is an integral member of the School Partnerships team within CHOP's Office of Community Impact. The HRC Educator is based in partner school sites four days per week and at CHOP's Roberts Center location once a week. The HRC Educator facilitates sexual health and reproductive education and counseling through both individual and group sessions with students. They also collaborate closely with school and community partner staff to connect students to supportive services, resources, and referrals aligned to student needs. In addition, the HRC Educator maintains program data, supports reporting requirements, and ensures compliance with all applicable standards and regulations, contributing to continuously improving services. The HRC Educator receives foundational training in sexual and reproductive health content and program requirements. Success in the role also requires ongoing learning and self-directed research to adapt programming, workshops, and counseling to meet the needs of students and school communities. The ideal candidate is passionate about adolescent health, skilled in building authentic relationships with young people, and committed to creating safe, inclusive spaces where youth feel empowered.

What you will do

• 1) Provides sexual and reproductive health services, including urine pregnancy and STI screening, counseling on pregnancy options and STI notification, condom distribution, education on safer sex practices, and referrals to comprehensive medical and supportive services through established community partnerships.
• 2) Independently develops and implements individualized and group support plans with measurable goals and objectives tailored to the unique needs of students.
• 3) Assesses student’s home and relationship safety; support in navigating school and community environments; and develops and delivers individual and group-based training using curricula on adolescent health and safety topics, including preventive and reproductive healthcare.
• 4) Monitors and evaluates youth progress through ongoing follow-up, outcomes tracking, and analysis of data collected during counseling sessions.

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED Required
• Bachelor's Degree Health Education, Public Health or related field Preferred

Experience Qualifications

• At least five (5) years Working with adolescents in school or community-based settings. Required
• At least three (3) years Develops and implements counseling sessions, health education workshops, or programming activities Required
• At least one (1) year Collecting, documenting and maintaining program or participant data Required
• Experience connecting underserved or low-income communities to resources and services Preferred
• Conducting pregnancy, mental health, STI or other health screenings and counseling Preferred
• Working with adolescents with physical and developmental disabilities Preferred

Skills and Abilities

• Strong relationship-building and youth engagement skills. (Required proficiency)

• Able to provide unbiased health education and risk-reduction counseling. (Required proficiency)
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing is required. (Required proficiency)

• Manage multiple priorities and school sites independently. (Required proficiency)
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excels, PowerPoint) and some data entry experience. (Required proficiency)
• Ability to approach conflicts and creatively solve problems independently. (Required proficiency)
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekend and evenings with advance notice, as needed. (Required proficiency)
• Ability to independently and reliably travel to assigned school and community partner sites. (Required proficiency)
• Knowledge of local adolescent health and community resources. (Preferred proficiency)
• Trauma-informed and/or restorative practices skills. (Preferred proficiency)
• Public speaking and presentation skills. (Preferred proficiency)
• Bilingual or multilingual communication skills. (Preferred proficiency)

SALARY RANGE:

$58,300.00 - $72,900.00 Annually

Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
