Head of IT and Infrastructure

Help shape how technology services support three aviation software businesses.

As Head of IT and Infrastructure, you’ll lead IT operations and service coordination across TAG’s aviation software businesses: OASES, Quantum and Zafire. You’ll be responsible for people management, service priorities, supplier performance and technology spending, making sure colleagues across all three businesses receive reliable, well-organised IT support.

Working closely with Finance, HR and business leaders, you’ll give the organisation a clear view of IT costs, commitments and priorities. You’ll partner with our Infrastructure Engineering Lead, who owns technical architecture and engineering delivery, so that service operations and engineering work together seamlessly.

Success in this role means employees have equipment and approved access ready when they need it, requests are resolved within agreed timescales, spending and renewals are visible and controlled, and supplier commitments and audit actions are completed on time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead, develop and support the IT administration and coordination team, setting clear priorities and providing day-to-day guidance.
• Own the service request process, ensuring requests are prioritised, assigned and tracked through to resolution, with clear escalation when work is delayed.
• Manage suppliers, software licences, renewals and purchasing within agreed budgets and approval processes, holding suppliers accountable for performance and commitments.
• Track technology spending in partnership with Finance, maintain visibility of upcoming commitments and renewals, and verify savings delivered through purchasing and licence optimisation.
• Coordinate equipment, approved access and IT readiness for employees joining, changing roles or leaving, working closely with HR and hiring managers.
• Organise audits, security reviews and compliance activities, keeping evidence and action plans current and ensuring actions are closed on time.
• Keep stakeholders informed about service changes and planned maintenance across OASES, Quantum and Zafire.
• Use service feedback and performance measures to continuously improve processes and the overall employee IT experience.
• Work alongside the Infrastructure Engineering Lead to align service priorities with technical architecture and engineering delivery.

• 7+ years experience in IT operations or service delivery, including 3+ years managing and developing staff and working across teams.
• Confidence managing suppliers, software licences, renewals, purchasing and budgets within agreed approval processes.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, resolve problems and follow requests and actions through to completion.
• Clear communication and strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with Finance, HR, business leaders and technical specialists.
• A solid understanding of IT services and security processes, including equipment and access coordination for employees joining, changing roles or leaving.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Jira or similar administration and service management tools.
