Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not limited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for tasks outside the scope of work described.

Guest Room Maintenance

· Perform daily inspections and repairs of guest rooms and associated areas.

· Respond promptly to maintenance requests from Housekeeping, Front Office, Guest Services, and Engineering.

· Troubleshoot and repair defects in guest rooms, ensuring minimal disruption to guests.

· Complete assigned work orders within the established service level agreement (SLA).

Ensure all repaired rooms are returned to service in excellent condition.

General Repairs

Carry out minor maintenance and repairs including:

· Electrical fixtures (light bulbs, switches, sockets, lamps)

· Plumbing fixtures (faucets, shower heads, toilet mechanisms, drains)

· Carpentry work (doors, locks, hinges, furniture adjustments)

· Painting and touch-ups

· Silicone sealing and grouting

· Curtain tracks and blinds

· Door closers and door alignment

· Bathroom accessories

· Minor ceiling and wall repairs

· Furniture repairs and adjustments

Preventive Maintenance

· Conduct preventive maintenance according to the planned maintenance schedule.

· Identify potential maintenance issues before they affect guest comfort.

· Report major defects requiring specialist intervention.

Guest Service

· Interact courteously and professionally with guests when carrying out repairs in occupied rooms.

· Respect guest privacy and follow hotel etiquette at all times.

· Ensure guest rooms are left clean and tidy after completing maintenance work.

Health, Safety & Quality

· Comply with all Health & Safety procedures.

· Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures where applicable.

· Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.

· Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

· Ensure work complies with hotel quality standards and brand requirements

Administration

· Update work orders accurately upon completion.

· Record parts used and report stock requirements.

· Report recurring room defects and recommend long-term solutions.

· Participate in daily Engineering briefings.

Qualifications

Qualification:

· Middle or Secondary Education + Additional training or certificates in the relevant field is a plus.

Experience:

· A minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel industry.

· Proven experience working in a top luxury resorts is a plus.

Technical skills:

· Solid experience with plumbing and electrical systems.

· Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment.

· Extremely organized.

· Detail-orientated skills.

· Good problem-solving skills.

· Fluency in English or another language, written and verbal communication.

· Knowledge of a second language is a plus.
