Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing Group classes that support the operations of the Rising Strong program.  Classes will be tailored to meet individualized program needs and provided through a scope of work outlined below.


Job Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Facilitate ongoing groups, aligning with the following specific scope of work:
  2. Provide one on one hour group Wellbriety meetings weekly
    1. Meetings will be open to all who self-identify as American Indian/Alaska Native or have a desire to partake in the benefits of classes taught by facilitator.
    2. Groups will address issues of SUD recovery and Cultural connection/identity.
  3. Work with staff to identify participants and promote participation
  4. Provide an additional hour per week as requested for consulting or training of staff or supporting American Indian/Alaska Native Residents.

  5. Provide set up and tear-down for each group session.

  6. Meet with program leadership for supervision of group effectiveness and to ensure group outcome measures are achieved.

  7. Provide program leadership attendance records for each group session, report any resident or program concerns to program leadership in a timely manner.

  8. Uses appropriate administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of CCEW client protected health information (PHI), per regulations outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). 

  9. Will regularly utilize all forms of communication (email, text, phone, etc.) and database practices necessary for this position and as directed by supervisor. 

  10. As a mandated reporter, follow all procedures outlined in agency policies and procedures to report to the proper agency when there is suspicion and/or confirmation that a child or vulnerable adult has been a victim of abuse or neglect.
  11. Adhere to the tenets of Catholic Social Teaching. 

  12. Performs as a team member to ensure that productivity outcome measures are achieved. 

  13. Perform related functions as necessary to support the mission of Catholic Charities—aligning with all agency policies, procedures and employee handbook mandates.  


Job Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job. 

 

Education/Experience:
to perform this job successfully, an individual must have (at a minimum) three years of experience administering the identified group scope of work. For groups that require credentialing, proof of credentialled experience is required. Demonstrated skill in group facilitation is required.

 

Certificates/Licenses: To perform this job successfully, an individual must participate in a four-day Circle of Security facilitator training, have a valid Driver’s License, and ability to drive for work use. Successfully pass background check applicable to position.



Physical Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:

  • Regularly sit, stand, walk, hear/listen, talk

    lift up to 10 pounds, pull/push, carry, grasp, reach
  • Occasionally crawl, stoop, kneel

  • Problem Solving Ability: ability to identify and/or prevent problems before they occur; ability to formulate alternative solutions to problems when necessary; ability to transfer learning from past experiences to new experiences of similar nature.
  • Quality Management: ability to complete duties, on time and with absolute precision, at least 95% of the time; ability to edit the accuracy and thoroughness of one’s work as well as the work of others; ability to constructively apply feedback to improve performance, ability to generate ideas to improve and promote quality in work
  • Reasoning Ability: ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Supervisory Skills: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.


Workplace Environmental Conditions

While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee will be:

  • Client Population may include persons involved in gangs, with substance abuse concerns, homelessness and/or tendencies towards violent behavior.
  • Noise Conditions: exposed during a shift to constant or intermittent sounds at moderate to loud levels of sound dependent upon the activities of the Shelter.
  • Exposure to Trauma: Employees of Catholic Charities Eastern Washington provide direct services to vulnerable community members including those who have behavioral health challenges and those who have been exposed to trauma.
