Our Category Buying team partners closely with Planning to curate exciting, customer-first ranges that drive sales, maximise profit and keep THE ICONIC ahead of the curve. From spotting what’s trending to building forward-thinking assortments, the team plays a key role in delivering a platform of choice for our customers.

Working hand-in-hand with Finance, Operations and teams across GFG, Commercial helps bring our strategy to life — ensuring we make smart decisions, forecast accurately and deliver the future of fashion, every day.

We are currently looking for a Garment Technician to join our Own Brand team.

What's involved...

  • Creating initial Tech Packs in collaboration with design for sample development, including detailed garment construction instructions, measurements, and fabric requirements.
  • Measure garments and provide feedback on quality & make ensuring all suppliers are adhering to THE ICONICS fit & make standards.
  • Organise & lead fit sessions ensuring consistent fit & sizing.
  • Support the designers by providing expert knowledge of fabrics, garment construction and performance
  • Liaising daily with suppliers in China in regard to fit comments, re-fits, fabrics, finishes and grading
  • Meet CP deadlines
  • Approving fabric test reports
  • Final bulk garment inspection approvals in accordance to set guidelines
  • Analyse styles with high return rate to continuously improve fit & quality 
  • Continuously assess and improve production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high-quality standard

 About you...

  • 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role ideally in the fast fashion industry
  • Tertiary education in design, pattern making and grading is essential
  • Strong knowledge of garment production processes, including pattern making, fit, quality control, and fabric testing
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality
  • Experience working across a variety of fabrics & categories is essential
  • Knowledge of Excel and Outlook necessary
  • Excellent understanding of critical path and timelines, with amazing time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
