Overview

Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Forklift Operator based in Muskogee, Oklahoma

Forklift Operators perform a combination of forklift operation, material handling, inventory control, and warehouse support duties. This position ensures the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. 

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
  • Shift Differential paid in addition to base hourly rate

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Material Handling & Production Support

  • Supply production lines with corrugated cases, dividers, pallets, glue, color concentrate, and other production materials.
  • Remove finished goods from production lines and transport them to designated warehouse locations.
  • Maintain proper inventories of packaging materials at each production line.
  • Return unused materials to proper warehouse locations.
  • Assist with stock handling and trailer loading when needed.

Forklift Operations

  • Safely operate forklifts and material-handling equipment.
  • Conduct daily forklift inspections and battery checks.
  • Change and water forklift batteries as needed and maintain required documentation.
  • Follow all established forklift safety procedures and operating guidelines.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or damage immediately.

Inventory & Warehouse Functions

  • Accurately document materials used, produced, received, and stored.
  • Complete line driver reports and other required paperwork.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts.
  • Store finished goods neatly and in designated warehouse locations.
  • Ensure all finished goods are properly tagged and identified.

Quality & Safety

  • Follow all safety, health, GMP, quality, and company policies.
  • Visually inspect finished product pallets for packaging and quality compliance.
  • Follow procedures for handling damaged materials and finished goods.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives.

Additional Duties

  • Remove and manage production scrap and recyclable materials.
  • Load and unload corrugated trailers.
  • Assist production employees during breaks and lunch periods.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding inventory levels, production needs, and operational issues.
  • Complete all required reports and documentation accurately and legibly.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year forklift experience preferred.

Forklift Operators are required to interact with other managers, employees, vendors, and customers. Therefore, the following skills and proficiencies are also essential requirements of the position:

  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
  • Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Compensation Statement

The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
