Job Description

As a Food and Beverage Team Leader at Novotel Melbourne South Wharf, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. We are seeking a confident and motivated individual who can lead our team during breakfast, lunch or evening shifts, ensuring all of our food and beverage services operate smoothly and efficiently. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and delegate duties to ensure smooth daily operations in our outlets 
• Oversee the set-up, service, and breakdown of dining and bar areas, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests
• Communicate feedback and key information to the Food & Beverage leadership team
• Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction by promptly addressing any concerns or special requests
• Lead by example and conduct team training to align with Novotel brand and service standards
• Monitor rosters and staffing schedules to meet operational requirements
• Ensure the proper handling and settlement of customer accounts using our POS system.
• Liaise with the kitchen team to ensure the highest standard of food quality and visual appeal

Qualifications

• A service-focused personality with a genuine interest in food and beverage
• Demonstrated experience in leading a team successfully
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead by example
• Confidence running shifts independently, and monitoring team member performance
• Experience in espresso coffee making and bartending will be highly regarded
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food handling best practices
• A current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and public holidays - please include your availability in your application
• You must have working rights in Australia to be considered for this role
