Fred Hutch Cancer Center is seeking a Financial Management Systems Analyst II to join the Enterprise Business Systems team within Information Technology, supporting the business application portfolio used by Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Research Administration, and clinical operations partners.

 

The Financial Management Systems Analyst II owns one module of a larger application, or one smaller application in its entirety, from support through configuration, testing, and documentation. The analyst provides Tier II support, resolves routine and moderately complex issues independently within that scope, and receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

 

The successful candidate serves as a bridge between operational users and technical teams, translating business needs into practical, well-documented system solutions. We are looking for someone who is analytical, customer-focused, and able to turn well-understood business needs into reliable configuration and support solutions.

Responsibilities

Application Support and Operations

  • Provide Tier II support for the assigned module or application, resolving production issues and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Diagnose root causes of issues in the assigned module or application, document findings and resolution steps, and escalate complex problems with a clear impact assessment.
  • Perform routine maintenance, audits, monitoring, and access-related activities for the assigned module or application according to established procedures.
  • Open and manage vendor support tickets, coordinating information and following issues through resolution.

Configuration and Delivery

  • Configure, test, manage, and support changes within the assigned module or application independently.
  • Implement approved enhancements and configuration changes using established change control and release processes.
  • Manage security assignments within the assigned module or application as applicable, following role and access request procedures.
  • Contribute to upgrades, projects, and integrations by completing assigned work on schedule.

Requirements and Analysis

  • Gather and document business and functional requirements for changes in the assigned module or application through user discussions and process review.
  • Produce impact analyses that identify affected processes, data, roles, interfaces, risks, and alternatives within the assigned module or application.
  • Analyze data, reports, and reconciliations to investigate issues and validate proposed solutions.

Testing and Quality

  • Develop and execute test conditions and test scripts for changes in the assigned module or application, documenting results and defects clearly.
  • Coordinate testing for the assigned module or application with users, verify fixes, and confirm that completed work meets documented requirements.
  • Support user acceptance testing and release readiness activities for changes affecting the assigned module or application.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing

  • Maintain complete documentation for the assigned module or application, including requirements, configuration guides, support procedures, and knowledge articles.
  • Create job aids and deliver end-user training for new functionality and process changes.
  • Document recurring issues and effective resolutions to improve the team's knowledge base.

Collaboration and Leadership

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to deliver practical solutions and communicate status, risks, and next steps.
  • Participate actively in design discussions, planning activities, and after-hours support rotation as assigned.
  • Build confidence and trust with business customers by following through on commitments and managing expectations.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience for the suite of applications that support a specific functional area: Procure to Pay: PeopleSoft (PO, AP), Onbase Content Management, Sci Quest; Grants Management: PeopleSoft (GM, PC, CA), Click Commerce; Accounting: PeopleSoft (GL, AM, AR, BI); FP&A: Hyperion (Budgeting/Planning); Business Intelligence: WebFocus.
  • Experience in designing and leading requirements discovery sessions including use of interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, business process modeling, and workflow analysis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, computer science, or related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills (multi-tasking) and a self-motivator.
  • Experience with SQL, ETL, database design and SDLC concepts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience with Huron Grants/Hutch Grants.
  • Experience with Community Grants Program.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Grants.
  • Experience with Workday Grants.  

The annual base salary range for this position is from $88,712 to $133,058, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
