Job Description

Dr. Mark Kazimirski's Practice is a privately operated family medicine clinic in Windsor, Nova Scotia, using the MedAccess EMR system and operating weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM. The clinic currently has two physicians and offers a collaborative practice environment with informal mentorship, regular team discussions, and support for in-office procedures. The practice follows a cost-sharing overhead model and is approved for both Longitudinal Family Medicine (LFM) and Fee-For-Service (FFS) billing models. The clinic is looking for a physician interested in a part-time practice. 

Physicians at this practice enjoy the flexibility to set their own schedules while working within a supportive, integrated care environment. The clinic offers full practice management support, access to shared services, and opportunities to participate in hospital-based and community-based care. Compensation is through the Longitudinal Family Medicine (LFM) model. The clinic has a supportive team including a Medical Office Assistant, Billing Specialist, Health Service Lead and Health Service Manager. 

Responsibilities

  • ensure the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
  • be accountable for appropriate workload and practice
  • continuum of patient care with health care providers within your practice and/or community
  • provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level heath care
  • build to capacity within the first two years
  • operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority
  • work toward same day or next day access for the practice population
  • work in collaboration with other team members in the practice to best suit the community’s health needs
  • work with other providers to provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required
  • participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities
  • utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members
  • Work alongside 2 family physicians
  • If desired, physicians have the option to conduct procedures in-office or at the local hospital with nursing support in ambulatory care.
