Job Description

Bayers Lake Medical Clinic is seeking two full-time Family Physicians to join our growing, community-focused practice located at 210 Chain Lake Drive in Halifax. Situated within the bustling Bayers Lake retail district—with ample free parking and a Superstore pharmacy onsite—this clinic offers both convenience and an excellent opportunity to build a thriving family practice.

Currently home to one family physician, this privately managed clinic is well-supported by a full-time office assistant, with plans to expand administrative support as more physicians join. An office manager also provides experienced LFM billing support, streamlining administrative processes and ensuring physicians can focus on patient care. The clinic operates on the Accuro EMR.

Each incoming physician will have access to their own dedicated office and exam room, with shared access to a kitchenette, waiting area, and two bathrooms. The clinic located inside a shopping centre and is efficiently designed with functionality and flow in mind, making it an easy environment to step into and get started.

There are no after-hours or call obligations, and physicians enjoy full flexibility in how and when they work. Clinic hours are currently Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but there is flexibility to work evenings, Fridays, or weekends if a physician wishes to do so.

The clinic operates on a flat-rate overhead model, offering cost certainty and simplicity for incoming physicians. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to establish a stable, independent practice in a supportive and well-situated environment.

  • ensure the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
  • be accountable for appropriate workload and practice
  • continuum of patient care with health care providers within your practice and/or community
  • provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level heath care
  • build to capacity within the first two years
  • operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority
  • work toward same day or next day access for the practice population
  • work in collaboration with other team members in the practice to best suit the community’s health needs
  • work with other providers to provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required
  • participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities
  • utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members
