Are you passionate about early learning, strengthening families, and helping children and caregivers connect with the resources they need to thrive? Community-Minded Enterprises (CME) is seeking a Family Engagement Coordinator to support families through early childhood education, family engagement, community Play & Learn programming, and the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).
In this role, you’ll work directly with children, parents, and caregivers to support early learning and child development, facilitate engaging Play & Learn experiences, and connect families with community resources. You’ll also help families participating in outpatient substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring treatment access consistent, high-quality childcare so they can focus on treatment and recovery.
You’ll build relationships with families, childcare providers, treatment agencies, and community partners while helping make early learning and family supports easier to access.
What You’ll Do
- Facilitate engaging, developmentally appropriate Play & Learn groups for young children and their parents or caregivers.
- Provide families with practical information and resources that support child development and early learning.
- Build supportive, strengths-based relationships with families and connect them with appropriate community resources.
- Facilitate Parent Trust peer support groups and other family engagement activities.
- Work individually with parents participating in outpatient SUD and co-occurring treatment to develop and maintain childcare plans.
- Help recruit and support eligible families participating in CCAP.
- Build relationships with licensed childcare providers and help families identify childcare that meets their needs.
- Partner with treatment agencies, behavioral health providers, childcare providers, and CME programs to increase awareness of CCAP and maintain program participation.
- Help families identify and address barriers that may interfere with maintaining consistent childcare.
- Develop community partnerships that support Play & Learn locations, outreach, and participation.
- Maintain accurate program documentation, data, reports, and information needed to support program and contract requirements.
What You'll Bring
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family Studies, Human Services, Social Services, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family Studies, or a related field preferred.
- An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience may be considered.
- At least two years of experience in early childhood education, early learning, child development, childcare, or a closely related setting.
- Experience facilitating developmentally appropriate activities for young children and their parents or caregivers strongly preferred.
- Experience in family engagement or family support services strongly preferred.
- Experience working with individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder and recovery is a plus.
Certificates and Licenses
- Current valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation with required liability insurance.
- CCAR Recovery Coach Certificate preferred.
- Ability to pass ongoing background checks.
Language Ability
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with parents, child care providers, treatment partners, community organizations, and coworkers.
- Ability to listen effectively, respond to questions, facilitate groups, and communicate information to individuals with different needs and experiences.
- Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports, correspondence, documentation, and program records.
- Ability to read and interpret program requirements, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to accurately enter, maintain, and report program data using Reliatrax and other database systems.
- Ability to use online tools and resources to conduct research and support families.
