Project

The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Position

The Facilities & Infrastructure Coordinator is an integral part of Woodfibre LNG's dynamic team. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for coordinating the safe and reliable maintenance of non-process assets and infrastructure required to support site operations. The role ensures buildings, roads, grounds, marine infrastructure, site services, and other supporting assets remain available, compliant, and fit for purpose.

The position provides maintenance execution leadership by coordinating work readiness, removing execution constraints, managing contractor activities, and ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the Maintenance Work Management process.

During Turnarounds and major maintenance events, the Facilities & Infrastructure Maintenance Coordinator serves as the Facilities Execution Lead, ensuring temporary and permanent infrastructure is available to support safe and efficient execution.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will:

Facilities & Infrastructure Maintenance

  • Coordinate & manage maintenance activities for buildings, roads, grounds, marine infrastructure, and other non-producing assets.
  • Ensure facilities remain safe, reliable, compliant, and fit-for-purpose.
  • Support development and execution of preventive maintenance programs within SAP PM.
  • Coordinate inspections, repairs, and service activities for facility infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate asset records, maintenance history, and documentation.

Operations Readiness & Asset Support

  • Support commissioning, handover, and operational readiness of facility infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain facility maintenance procedures, standards, and work processes.
  • Coordinate facility service requirements with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
  • Support lifecycle planning and identification of infrastructure improvement opportunities.

Turnaround & Major Maintenance Support

  • Act as the Facilities Coordinator during Turnarounds and major maintenance events.
  • Coordinate temporary facilities, contractor support areas, access requirements, laydown areas, site services, and logistics requirements.
  • Ensure infrastructure readiness before contractor mobilization and maintenance execution.
  • Support post-event restoration and lessons learned.

Contractor & Service Management

  • Oversee & Coordinate facility maintenance contractors and service providers.
  • Develop scopes of work and monitor contractor performance.
  • Ensure contractor activities comply with safety, environmental, and site requirements.
  • Support cost tracking and contract performance reviews.

Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Promote and support WLNG’s safety culture and Life-Saving Rules.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and company procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reliability, reduce costs, and enhance maintenance effectiveness.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to asset management and maintenance execution.

Required Experience:

  • Interprovincial Red Seal, technical diploma, facilities management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5–10 years of experience in industrial facilities, Site wide maintenance, oil & gas, LNG, mining, or heavy industry.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance activities.
  • Experience supporting shutdowns, turnarounds, or major maintenance events.
  • Knowledge of SAP PM or similar CMMS systems.
  • Strong understanding of facility infrastructure, asset management, and maintenance work processes.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a high-hazard facility.
  • Understanding of BC regulatory environment and industrial relations.
  • Safety leadership in high-risk environments
  • Strong process safety awareness
  • Stakeholder coordination across Maintenance, Operations & Engineering
  • Contractor oversight & turnaround readiness
  • Continuous improvement mindset

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience working with large multi-disciplinary teams and contractors in a multicultural environment is an asset.
  • Communication/interpersonal skills – interacting with front-line workers through to management and all hierarchical levels.
  • Ability to be Innovative and vision-oriented with demonstrated ability to undertake strategic planning and implementation.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and change priorities within tight time frames.

  • A valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • The position is primarily site-based in Squamish, BC (Project Site), with an initial stay period at the Vancouver Office, and involves a combination of indoor warehouse and outdoor yard work, potential exposure to heavy equipment, industrial noise, and varying weather conditions, and may require extended working hours depending on operational needs.
