Handle specialized paperwork such as Certificates of Origin, Letters of Credit (LC), and Shipping Bills. Maintain accurate electronic and physical records for audit and statutory purposes. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade), Customs, RBI, and FEMA guidelines. Manage export incentive schemes such as Duty Drawback, MEIS/RODTEP, and Advance Licenses. Classify goods according to the Harmonized System (HSN) to determine correct tariffs and duties. Logistics & Coordination: Liaise with Custom House Agents (CHA), freight forwarders, and shipping lines for smooth cargo clearance. Track real-time shipment status and proactively resolve delays or logistical bottlenecks. Negotiate freight rates and select the most efficient transport modes (sea, air, or land) to optimize costs. Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate with internal departments like Finance, Sales, and Procurement to align shipment schedules with inventory needs. Communicate directly with overseas clients and suppliers regarding shipment updates and documentation requirements. Reporting & MIS: Prepare periodic Management Information System (MIS) reports detailing shipment costs, performance metrics (KPIs), and compliance status. Essential Skills Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Incoterms, international trade laws, and customs procedures. Tools: Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for filing.
