What You’ll Do Day-To-Day

Design critical cast components that matter.We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in metallic castings to own the design of complex engineered cast components used in demanding, highly regulated applications. The Engineer must support both off-site metallic casting suppliers and an on-site machine shop through effective collaboration and communication. The Engineer is responsible for maintaining design control while also helping to evaluate nonconformances from manufacturing upsets.

What You'll Do•    Design, improve, and develop complex metallic cast components from concept through production. •    Apply engineering analysis and sound design principles to improve performance, manufacturability, and reliability. •    Work closely with external foundry suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional on-site engineering teams to bring designs to life. •    Own design control activities including drawings, specifications, engineering changes, and technical documentation. •    Investigate manufacturing and field issues, identify root causes, and develop robust engineering solutions. •    Ensure designs comply with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations. •    Drive continuous improvement in both product design and engineering processes. •    Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical leadership on key projects. 

 

What We're Looking ForWe're interested in engineers who have experience with one or more of the following:•    Designing metallic cast components (investment castings preferred) •    Mechanical component design and detailed engineering drawing review•    Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) •    Working with foundries or casting suppliers •    Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) •    Product development from concept through production •    Root cause analysis and resolving manufacturing or quality issues

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
    • Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.  
  • Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Good problem identification and problem resolution skills.  
  • Displays informal leadership characteristics.  
  • Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking.  
  • Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role.

Total Rewards Package

Total Rewards Package         

  • Salary: $110,000 - $121,000 and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
