EnerMech is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Mechanical Fitters for upcoming shutdown and maintenance project opportunities throughout the Gladstone region. 

This opportunity is suited to trade-qualified Mechanical Fitters with experience in site-based maintenance, shutdowns, breakdowns, installation, and repair work across heavy industrial environments. 

About the Role 

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will support site teams with planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities, helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard across shutdowns, maintenance projects, and industrial work fronts. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Carrying out mechanical fitting, installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities 
  • Supporting shutdowns, planned maintenance, breakdowns, and project scopes across industrial sites 
  • Inspecting, servicing, aligning, assembling, and replacing mechanical components and equipment 
  • Assisting with pumps, valves, conveyors, fixed plant, rotating equipment, pipework, and associated systems 
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, work packs, procedures, and technical documentation 
  • Completing work safely in line with permits, risk assessments, job plans, and site requirements 
  • Working collaboratively with supervisors, leading hands, trades, and project teams 
  • Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, housekeeping, and efficient task completion 

What We're Looking For 

  • Australian recognised trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Fitter and Turner, or equivalent 
  • Demonstrated experience as a Mechanical Fitter within shutdowns, maintenance, turnarounds, breakdowns, or project work 
  • Experience working within LNG, oil and gas, mining, resources, power generation, alumina, refinery, or heavy industrial environments 
  • Strong fault-finding, mechanical maintenance, installation, and repair capability 
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in fast-paced site environments 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team 
  • Commitment to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards 
  • Current Driver’s Licence 
  • Relevant site inductions, Construction White Card, working at heights, confined space, EWP, gas testing, and first aid tickets highly regarded 
  • Recent Police Clearance
  • Full Australian Working Rights
