Group/Division

The Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells KLA’s product portfolio to help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards for technologies like AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Our inspection, metrology, and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. We also develop technologies for specialty processes, IC substrates, and PCB manufacturing, including etch and deposition, component inspection, and imaging and analytics. KLA's Central Engineering organization is made up of nine Centers of Excellence (CoEs) spanning disciplines like automation, motion control, sensors, platform design, and packaging. Each CoE contributes not only technical deliverables but also deep expertise, best practices, and advanced tools that elevate both what we build—and how we build it.

Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for an engineering technician to join KLA’s Electronics Rack & PDU Engineering Center! Our team builds and develops sophisticated electromechanical assemblies that power high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure for KLA products, enabling innovative image data processing. The engineering technician supports the development, deployment, and sustaining of image computer racks and power distribution solutions aligned with KLA’s compute and infrastructure roadmaps. This role combines hands‑on technical execution with systems‑level understanding, supporting assembly build, subsystem integration, testing, documentation, and change management in a fast‑paced engineering environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong ownership, hands-on assembly & problem-solving experience, interdisciplinary knowledge, and effective multi-functional communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, build, validation, deployment, and maintenance of rack-level electromechanical systems, including mechanical structures, PDUs, controls, cabling, and monitoring hardware.

  • Perform system assembly, integration, upgrades, testing, and problem solving, applying structured root-cause analysis to resolve issues and improve reliability.

  • Develop and implement test plans and procedures to support product validation, qualification, and compliance with electrical, thermal, acoustic, and regulatory requirements.

  • Analyze and document test results, providing recommendations to improve product performance, manufacturability, and release readiness through multi-functional collaboration.

  • Own and sustain Ann Arbor Rack Lab operations, including equipment readiness, tool calibration, inventory of consumables, and enforcement of 5S principles to maintain a safe, organized, and compliant lab environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands-on expertise with rack-level or similar complex electromechanical infrastructure, power distribution systems, controls, cabling, and related hardware.

  • Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and component specifications, developing test plans, and implementing validation and qualification testing.

  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

  • Experience supporting lab operations, and safety compliance (5S, EHS)

  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience supporting hardware development, system integration, assembly, testing, and lab operations in electromechanical environments.

  • Ability to independently perform system bring-up, integration, problem solving, and root cause analysis across mechanical and electrical systems.

Total Rewards

Base Pay Range: $26.98 - $40.00 Per Hour Primary Location: USA-MI-Ann Arbor-KLA
