About this role

Role Overview


We are looking for an Engineering Manager who is passionate about technology, people, and execution. You will lead a team of software engineers building scalable SaaS products while driving engineering excellence, delivery predictability, and AI-enabled software development.

The ideal candidate has a strong software engineering background in modern programming languages such as Java or Python, understands how AI is transforming software development, and can leverage AI tools to significantly improve engineering productivity and product innovation.


This role requires someone who can balance technical leadership, stakeholder management, execution, and people development while fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.


Technical Leadership

● Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-based SaaS applications.

● Guide architecture discussions and ensure engineering best practices across the team.

● Drive technical excellence through clean architecture, code quality, testing, security, and observability.

● Mentor engineers on system design, coding standards, and software craftsmanship.

● Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend pragmatic adoption where appropriate.


AI-Driven Engineering

● Champion AI-assisted software development using tools such as Cursor, Claude, or similar AI coding assistants.

● Identify opportunities to leverage AI to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, and release management.

● Drive implementation of AI-powered product capabilities and collaborate with product teams to build intelligent customer experiences.

● Promote AI-first engineering practices that reduce development time while maintaining high quality.


Delivery & Execution

● Own end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives with predictable execution.

● Improve engineering velocity by streamlining development processes and eliminating bottlenecks.

● Balance speed with quality while ensuring timely releases.

● Manage technical risks proactively and communicate mitigation plans effectively.

● Foster a culture of continuous improvement using metrics and data-driven decision-making.


People Leadership

● Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team.

● Conduct regular coaching, performance reviews, and career development conversations.

● Hire exceptional engineering talent and help create an inclusive, collaborative culture.

● Encourage ownership, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.



Stakeholder Management

● Partner closely with Product Management, Customer Success, Professional Services, Sales, and Executive Leadership.

● Translate business priorities into engineering execution plans.

● Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs effectively.

● Build strong cross-functional relationships and influence decisions across teams.


Collaboration & Ownership

● Drive accountability across engineering initiatives from planning through production support.

● Collaborate effectively with multiple engineering teams and external stakeholders.

● Ensure customer issues are prioritized appropriately and resolved with urgency.

● Promote operational excellence through effective incident management and continuous improvement.


Required Qualifications

● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

● Around 10 years of software engineering experience with at least 2–4 years managing engineering teams.

● Strong hands-on programming experience in at least one modern language such as Java, Python, Go, or C#.

● Experience building cloud-native, distributed SaaS applications.

● Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, microservices, databases, and scalable system design.

● Demonstrated experience delivering complex software projects on schedule.

● Experience using AI tools to improve software development workflows and engineering productivity.

● Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

● Proven ability to influence without authority across cross-functional teams.

● Strong people management, coaching, and mentoring skills.

● High sense of ownership, accountability, and bias for execution.
