Job Description

 

Manufacturing Electrician 

Kinston, NC

 

Compensation Includes

  • Starting Pay Rate of $32.39 - 35/hour depending on experience - paid weekly

Available Shift

  • 2nd: 4:00pm - 12:00am 
  • Monday - Friday with some Saturdays as needed

Overview

The Electrician position is responsible consistently completing preventive and reactive/corrective electrical maintenance. Qualified candidates must possess a thorough understanding of electrical theory, industrial electricity applications, electromechanical systems such as drive trains, hydraulics, vacuum, and heat transfer to include demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Always complies with established safety and environmental policies, programs, and procedures. These include but are not limited to electrical safety, lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment, ladder safety, machine shop/tool safety, and powered vehicle safety
  • Perform various maintenance and project related activities on industrial production and support equipment to maximize equipment life and reliability to ensure safe and cost-effective operation
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for daily work activity planning, labor utilization, and accurate recording of completed equipment maintenance activities (work orders)
  • Performs electrical work according to requirements of local and state building/safety codes
  • Utilize precision measuring tools/devices, hand tools, and testing instruments used in the maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems. These include multi-meters, stethoscopes, micrometers, etc.
  • Tasked with performing or assisting with all major and minor electrical installations & repairs
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5 years related experience
  • High Degree of mechanical ability and aptitude with proven ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Associate Degree/or Electrical Engineering Certificate preferred
  • Must be knowledgeable in electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, blueprint reading (mechanical/electrical), understanding of welding and fabrication
  • Previous electrical experience with troubleshooting capabilities
  • Must be knowledge on basic controls, VFDs, PLC and PC
  • Knowledge of electrical repairs and duties
  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
