Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Technical Authority: Act as the lead escalation point for the site team, diagnosing and resolving complex electrical and automation failures to minimize downtime.
  • Operations & Maintenance: Develop and manage preventative and corrective maintenance programs for electrical equipment, transmitters, sensors, and actuators to maximize uptime.
  • Rapid Problem Resolution: Expected to be the & technical anchor & during plant outages, providing the advanced diagnostic logic needed to get systems back online quickly. Doing RCFA and presenting different reports to stakeholders including customers.
  • System Optimization: Configure, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, DCS, and SCADA/HMI systems.
  • OPEX Optimization: Expectation to reduce &  emergency spend & (which is usually 3-4x more expensive) by shifting the budget toward high-impact preventative maintenance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Coordinating with related stakeholders including customers and managing operations effectively.
  • Zero-Base Forecasting: Ability to build an annual budget from scratch based on actual asset health data, rather than just copying the previous year’s spend.
  • Asset Stewardship: Manage the lifecycle of critical assets, ensuring equipment reaches its maximum life expectancy through proactive maintenance and calculated capital investments.
  • Project Management: Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and control systems to meet operational needs.
  • Budgeting & Reporting: Manage capital/operational budgets and maintain documentation for equipment maintenance and project performance.

  • Safety Ownership: Ensuring 100% compliance with electrical safety standards (like LOTO) so that no technical work results in an injury.
  • Compliances: Maintain a culture of & Safety First,& ensuring all technical work and budgetary decisions align with local regulations and international engineering standards.
  • Root Cause Elimination: Moving the team beyond to identifying why a failure happened and implementing engineering solutions to ensure it never happens again.
  • Team Empowerment: Mentor and upskill the maintenance team, ensuring they have the technical know-how to execute precision maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • System Modernization: Proactively identifying obsolete instrumentation or control systems and proposing upgrades before they become a failure risk.
  • Vendor & Contract Management: Negotiating high-value service contracts and spare parts pricing to ensure the site gets maximum value for every dollar spent.
  • People development and Skill Gap Closing: Identifying where technicians are struggling (e.g., specific PLC brands or new smart instruments) and organizing targeted training. Identify and develop key people, at least one in each region to take higher responsibility in the future.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree- 8 to10 years of relevant experience in E&I maintenance
and projects, preferably in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or water
