Electric Service Estimator
About this role
Position Summary
Lighting Maintenance Inc. (LMI) is seeking an experienced Service Estimator to prepare accurate estimates and proposals for commercial, industrial, municipal, and government electrical and lighting service work.
The ideal candidate understands how electrical service work is performed in the field and can accurately evaluate labor, materials, equipment, access requirements, and project conditions to develop competitive and profitable estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare estimates for electrical and lighting service, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and small projects.
- Review customer requests, technician notes, photos, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Develop labor, material, equipment, rental, and subcontractor costs.
- Obtain vendor and supplier pricing.
- Prepare clear proposals with scope, pricing, assumptions, and exclusions.
- Work with technicians and Service Management to clarify field conditions and project requirements.
- Participate in site visits when needed.
- Identify scope gaps, additional work, access requirements, and potential project risks.
- Maintain accurate estimate and proposal documentation.
- Support project handoff once work is awarded.
- Review completed work to improve future estimating accuracy and profitability.

Estimates may include:
- Commercial and industrial lighting
- Parking-lot and site lighting
- LED upgrades and retrofits
- Lighting controls
- Pole and fixture replacements
- Electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Panels, feeders, and branch circuits
- Underground electrical work
- Bucket-truck and aerial work
- Small electrical construction projects
Qualifications
- 5+ years of electrical, lighting, service, estimating, or related construction experience.
- Experience preparing electrical estimates, quotes, or proposals.
- Strong understanding of electrical materials, labor, equipment, and installation methods.
- Ability to read drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Strong organizational, mathematical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/project-management systems.
- Valid driver's license.
Journeyman or Master Electrician experience is preferred but not required.
