Job Overview

The Early Outreach Initiative Coordinator supports Georgetown University Law Center's commitment to expanding access to legal education by engaging high school students through outreach, educational programming, and relationship building. This position helps increase awareness of legal careers and the law school pathway among students who may not otherwise have exposure to the legal profession. Working closely with the Office of Admissions, the Admissions Officer serves as a representative of Georgetown Law in schools and community settings, delivering presentations, facilitating discussions, coordinating outreach activities, and fostering meaningful connections with students, educators, counselors, and community partners. The incumbent communicates with prospective participants through email, phone, and in-person interactions while supporting the planning and execution of outreach programs designed to inspire the next generation of legal professionals.

This is a seasonal, part-time, fully in-person position with occasional local and regional travel.

Work Interactions

The Early Outreach Initiative Coordinator duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead panel discussions and moderate conversations featuring attorneys, law students, alumni, faculty, and other legal professionals.

  • Build and maintain relationships with school counselors, educators, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders to support ongoing outreach efforts.

  • Communicate with prospective participants and partners through email, phone, and other correspondence to coordinate programming and respond to inquiries.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • J.D. preferred.

  • Experience in admissions, higher education, community engagement, youth development, outreach, public service, or a related field.

  • Excellent public speaking, presentation, and facilitation skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students, educators, community organizations, and institutional partners.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and database systems.

  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as programming requires.

  • Ability to travel locally and regionally for outreach events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

  • Experience presenting to high school or college student audiences.

  • Experience planning educational programs, workshops, or community engagement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with law school admissions, legal education, or pipeline programs.

  • Experience with CRM systems, event management platforms, or student information systems.

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$41,926.00 - $65,090.00

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
