DTICI_Vice President - Global Piping & Harness Engineering MB Truck

• Lead the transition of Global Piping responsibilities to DTICI

• Drive the alignment of a global piping target picture including Brazil and DICV

• Drive the Wiring Harness target process alignment within MB/P globally

• Set Up organization and processes within DTICI to cover the piping and harness engineering activities

• Management of the department operations and ensure smooth functioning of the department.

• Be a single point of contact for steering the Global Piping and Harness Engineering topics for MB/P at DTICI

• Identifying new avenues of business and expand the department operations.

• Ensure total statutory and non-statutory compliance.

• Ensure sufficient, proficient and satisfied employees who are well trained.

• Ensure department collaboration spread across all regions of DTAG (MB Trucks, Daimler Bus and DTNA).

• Development of competence and know how in DTICI

1. Strategy

• Define the strategic direction for the department and aligning the department strategy with the strategy of MB/P as well as DTICI

   

   

2. Projects 

• Management of Global Piping and Harness design activities in Bangalore for MB Trucks including design, development, validation and release of parts, components and systems according to defined Roles & Responsibilities in the Global Network. 

• Coordinate communication with stakeholders in MB Trucks. 

• Safeguarding Quality and timelines (milestones) in the Projects

   

   

3. Product Development

• Identify and develop module development topics for MB Trucks

• Ensure accomplishment of the key tasks in the projects

   

   

4. Personnel

• Manpower planning, development, allocation and deployment

• Inspire and motivate the employees

• Keep the employee commitment level high and increase retention

• Safeguard the critical resources and information Define foundation to have individual target agreement for reporting managers in the department based on the company’s strategy

• Review of target agreement, appraisal and feedback

• Initiation actions for further development of managers and ensure the goals are achieved

5. Budget

• Financial planning for the department

• Optimum utilization of the resources including budget to meet expectations of stakeholders

   

   

6. Network

• Develop good image of location Bangalore in the R&D network of Daimler Truck AG

• Business development and process improvement through networking and contacts within and outside of MB/P and DTICI

• Develop knowledge channel with external agencies such as universities, educational institutes etc.

7. Miscellaneous

• Participate and contribute to DTICI leadership goals and strategies and help implement the larger strategic picture of DTICI

• Contribute to the shared goals of the organization

• Masters in Mechanical/Electronics/Computer Science/Information Technology engineering or equivalent

   

Preferred Skills: 

• 15+ years in the automotive product development domain with good knowledge of Wiring Harness, rigid and flexible Piping Systems, full vehicle integration, CAE with related tools.

• Extended Product knowledge of MB Truck.

• Broad network in MB/P organization.

• High intercultural sensitivity and flexibility, and Fluent English language (technical and business). German language skills beneficial.
