About this role

Job Summary

Design, configure, and operate end-to-end reclamation workflows using: o samp_sw_reclamation_rule o samp_sw_reclamation_candidate • Author and tune reclamation rules (conditions, thresholds, exclusions, frequency) • Configure workflows: notification → user validation → uninstall execution • Integrate reclamation with execution channels (SCCM, Intune, API-based uninstall, or manual fulfillment) • Operate and manage candidate queues, including triaging, suppression logic, and pipeline recovery • Produce monthly savings reports (identified → notified → reclaimed → cost avoided) • Align reclamation strategy with usage telemetry and lifecycle status (EoS-driven reclamation)

Key Responsibilities

Advanced SAM Configuration (Downgrade, Affinity, Inference, Lifecycle) • Configure and maintain: o Downgrade rights within cmdb_software_product_model o Affinity rules (samp_sw_affinity_rule) o Suite inference and inference % thresholds • Perform suite consolidation (component → suite) tuning across major publishers (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk) • Execute reconciliation jobs and validate Effective License Position (ELP) impact • Maintain Software Product Lifecycle data: o GA, End-of-Sale, End-of-Support, Extended Support o Handle ZB-specific behavior (display value vs sys_id handling) • Build End-of-Support exposure reports and align with reclamation and entitlement strategies Software Normalization & Content Library Operations • Manage large-scale normalization backlog (cmdb_sam_sw_discovery_model) • Execute Content Library / Publisher Pack updates • Perform: o Bulk matching / merging o Noise suppression (drivers, runtimes) o Custom matcher development for internal/OEM apps • Establish and operate normalization KPIs: o Unmatched backlog o Auto-match % o Aging • Maintain weekly normalization cadence and runbooks 4. SAM Operational Health & Monitoring • Build and operate SAM Health Dashboard covering: o Integration freshness (SCCM, Intune, SaaS sources) o Normalize & Reconcile job status o Publisher pack version drift o Failed / long-running jobs • Implement automated watchdogs: o Incident creation for job failure or SLA breach • Ensure adherence to logging standards (global.GSLog) • Perform daily SAM health checks and proactive issue resolution 5. DMAP & Software Model Alignment • Conduct DMAP gap analysis: o Missing links between discovery models and software models o Orphan/retired model cleanup • Rebuild model structures for key publishers • Resolve model drift impacting entitlement binding • Establish quarterly governance cadence with stakeholders 6. Integration Engineering (Critical SAM Capability) • Configure and manage integrations with: o SCCM / MECM o Intune o JAMF Pro o ServiceNow Discovery o CrowdStrike / additional inventory sources • Configure SaaS connectors: o Microsoft 365 / Entra ID o Adobe Admin Console o Others (Salesforce, Atlassian, etc.) • Ensure data ingestion completeness, accuracy, and deduplication (IRE rules) • Troubleshoot: o API failures o ECC Queue issues o MID Server performance/capacity • Build outbound integrations: o sys_rest_message, scripted REST APIs o Automated uninstall/license deprovisioning • Implement HR-driven JML integration to enable real-time reclamation triggers

Platform Development & Administration\\\\r\\\\n• Configure: \\\\r\\\\no Roles, ACLs, and access controls\\\\r\\\\no System properties and SAM settings\\\\r\\\\n• Develop workflows using Flow Designer / Workflow\\\\r\\\\n• Manage update sets and deployment lifecycle\\\\r\\\\n• Execute: \\\\r\\\\no Background scripts\\\\r\\\\no Form/table customizations\\\\r\\\\n• Support enhancements, upgrades, and defect resolution\\\\r\\\\n
